Tree Trimming FAQ

The questions we hear most often from homeowners across the Chippewa Valley.

When is the best time to prune trees in Wisconsin?

Most deciduous trees in Wisconsin are best pruned during late winter or early spring while they are dormant, before new growth begins. Flowering trees should be pruned right after they bloom. We assess each tree individually and time the work accordingly.

How much does tree trimming cost in Eau Claire?

Tree trimming cost depends on the number and size of trees, their condition, and the type of work needed. We provide a free on-site estimate so you know the cost before we start. There is no obligation.

Do you offer free assessments?

Yes. Every engagement starts with a free on-site assessment. We come out, look at your trees, and give you a clear plan. Call (715) 834-5239 to schedule.

Can you prune trees near power lines?

Tree work near energized power lines is dangerous and should only be performed by qualified line-clearance professionals. We can advise on what is safe to handle from the ground and coordinate with your utility when line-clearance work is required.

How often should trees be trimmed?

Most residential trees benefit from pruning every 3 to 5 years. Fast-growing species such as willow or cottonwood may need attention more frequently, while slow-growing mature oaks can often go longer between visits. We will recommend a schedule during the free assessment.

What is the difference between trimming and pruning?

In everyday use the two terms are often interchangeable. Pruning generally refers to selective removal of specific branches to improve tree health and structure. Trimming tends to refer to shaping and size control, including hedges and ornamental work. We do both on every visit.

Do you haul away the debris after trimming?

Yes. All cut material is cleaned up and hauled away. Your property is left neat. If you would like to keep wood or brush for firewood or mulch, just let us know and we will set it aside.
